When I was in London in September 2001, I knew the Battersea Power Station was somewhere in the west end, but I wasn't exactly sure where. I took the tube to Vauxhall station and walked onto Vauxhall Bridge. From there, you could see the new Millennium Wheel and the Houses of Parliament to the east. On the other side was the Battersea Power Station. I took the first photo from there.

I crossed the bridge to the north shore of the Thames and began walking towards the Battersea Power Station, taking more and more photos as I got closer. I took a detour into the neighbourhoods of Kensington and Chelsea for a few minutes to visit the Royal Military Hospital. One photo was taken in the hospital courtyard. It is the red-brown building with a statue and the Battersea Power Station chimneys peeking up from behind.

After that I crossed the Albert Bridge into Battersea Park and walked back towards the power station.

It was a good day to take pictures, as there were many clouds but sunny moments too. As I got right to the gate of the Battersea Power Station, the sun came out and some of the best photos were taken. As I walked away from the Battersea Power Station, the day began to move towards sundown and the last photos were taken with a nice sky in the background. The whole adventure took about 3 hours (I also stopped in a pub for a couple of drinks halfway).
